  1. What are visiting hours ?
    We do not have any particular visiting hours, however we suggest to make a call before paying a visit. Children may visit only under adult supervision.

  1. Is there an emergency room at Kalra Hospital ?
    Kalra Hospital has 24 hour emergency care, with acute and swing bed services. The hospital has many full time Physicians and Assistants to attend the patients any time of the day.

  1. When I check-in, what kind of personal belongings should I bring ?
    A small bag of personal belongings such as toothbrush, hairbrush, robe and slippers etc., is suggested. We also recommend labeling of belongings. Valuables, credit cards, cash and jewelry should be left at home. Kalra does not take the responsibility for lost articles but will be there to help you find them. In case of losses notify on-duty nurse immediately.

  1. Why we cannot bring food for the patient ?
    To maintain strict infection control protocol Kalra Hospital won’t allow outside food and flower.

  1. Does the hospital offer round-the-clock service ?
    Yes, the hospital has staff to work round-the-clock. Consultants are available in rotation to attend to any Medical Emergency that may arise. Minor ailments are tackled during Emergency hours if required by Casualty Medical Officer.

  1. Can my family and friends make decisions when I am unable to ?
    Your closest relative or individual, designated as a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care will be asked to help make decisions if you are unable to. It will assist us if you have appointed one person to be your Attorney for Health Care Decisions who will help the doctor in making the decisions.

  1. How long will the admission procedure take ?
    This varies from individual to individual, depending on the type of procedure you are being admitted for. The Admissions Nurse will be able to give you an estimated time when you arrive.

  1. Can I use my mobile phone while in hospital ?
    We ask you to switch off your mobile phones at the time of admission and they must not be used in the recovery area due to interference with medical procedures. You are welcome to use your mobile phones in Hospital Reception area and overnight suites. However, we would request that you set your ring tone in vibration or silent mode, so that it does disturb other patients.

  1. Can a family member spend the night with me ?
    We do not encourage family members or friends to spend the night with patients. However, in special circumstances, such as a parent is required to stay with their sick child or a family member is needed translate for a Non- Hindi or English speaking patient etc.

  1. Are medicines available to the patient in the hospital or do they have to go out of the premises to procure them ?
    Medicines are supplied from the In-Patient pharmacy and one does not have to venture out of the hospital to procure them.
